Учимся создавать здоровые мысли
Теперь поговорим о процессе, параллельном процессу разрушения вредоносных мыслей, – о созидании здоровых мыслей. Вы же не хотите, разрушая ядовитую мысль, зациклиться на ней?! Поэтому вы сразу созидаете здоровую мысль и концентрируетесь на ней. Так создается равновесие.
1. Осознание
o Разрушая ядовитую мысль, вы тут же, молитвенно и целенаправленно, думаете о мысли, которая ее заменит. Например, раз уж мы боремся с беспокойством по поводу нехватки денег: «Бог мой да восполнит всякую нужду вашу, по богатству Своему в славе, Христом Иисусом» (Филиппийцам 4:19).
2. Сосредоточенное размышление
o Выращивайте и внедряйте здоровую мысль, размышляя о положительном эффекте от нее, а не сосредоточиваясь на негативе от ядовитой мысли (см. главу 12).
3. Запись
o Добавляйте больше информации и связей другими мыслями, записывая позитив рядом с негативом (см. главу 13).
4. Ревизия (пересмотр-переосмысление)
o Оценивая процессы разрушения и созидания, вы стремитесь к одной цели: скрепить новые нейронные связи с помощью белка-«клея» (см. главу 14).
5. Осуществление
o Здесь вы также расщепляете прежнюю вредоносную мысль только за счет действия. Оно же укрепляет и новые нейронные связи (см. главу 15).
Если каждый день вы будете проходить эти пять шагов, вредоносные нейронные связи распадутся, а взамен окрепнут новые, здоровые мысли. Как сказано в Писании: «…Имейте веру Божию. Ибо истинно говорю вам: если кто скажет горе сей: «поднимись и ввергнись в море», и не усомнится в сердце своем, но поверит, что сбудется по словам его, – будет ему, что ни скажет» (Марка 11:23).
Послесловие
Когда я сел писать эти строки, у меня были определенные вопросы. Потом я спросил себя: «Почему это парень, пишущий послесловие для книги о том, как работает мозг, задает себе вопросы о том, как работает мозг? Почему бы мне не прочитать книгу и не получить ответы на свои вопросы?». И Кэролайн исчерпывающе ответила на этих страницах на все мои вопросы.
Позвольте мне слегка отвлечься. Для меня воспоминания – это события, места, запахи, эмоции, образы, мечты. Некоторые из них хорошие, некоторые – не очень. Запах отработанной солярки – мое ужасное воспоминание, способное вызвать у меня тошноту. (Я, будучи подростком, много раз ездил в Израиль. Я исколесил Святую Землю вдоль и поперек, передвигаясь на дизельных автобусах.)
Определение из геометрии «две параллельные прямые пересекаются перпендикулярной прямой так, что их внутренние углы будут конгруэнтны» просто отпечаталось в моей памяти. (Я сидел в классе на уроке и мечтал о замечательных вещах. И вдруг голос учителя грубо выдернул меня из моих мечтаний, а затем вызвал к доске – решать задачу по геометрии перед всем классом.)
Когда Лаури, с которой мы в браке уже тридцать лет, смотрит на меня снизу вверх, склонив голову к плечу, я тут же вспоминаю всплеск того чувства ЛЮБВИ, когда я был готов буквально бежать с ней в церковь, чтобы надеть на ее палец кольцо. Я мысленно возвращаюсь в 1984 год, в церковь, где мы венчались, где я обнимал ее крепко и долго. С тех пор мы почти никогда не расставались.
Когда меня знакомят с кем-нибудь по имени Том, а иногда и просто при упоминании этого имени, мне хочется захихикать. Серьезно! Моя память тут же начинает прокручивать картинку, как Лаури смотрит через мое плечо, и ее глаза расширяются, словно она увидела приведение! (Мы были в гостях у друга в Лос-Анджелесе, на вечеринке. И за моей спиной появился актер Том Хэнкс. Он ждал, когда можно будет поприветствовать хозяина дома. А я как раз рассказывал какую-то историю Лаури. Она пыталась всяческими ужимками и жестами заставить меня заткнуться и повернуться, но я никак не хотел остановиться. Наконец, до меня что-то стало доходить, и я повернулся. Том увидел это и сказал: «Здравствуйте, я Том». А я ответил тупо: «Да, я знаю».)
Когда вижу рекламу одной телефонной компании, мои глаза могут наполниться слезами. (По их телефону я разговаривал со своей женой, когда она, рыдая, еле смогла выдавить из себя новость о том, что у нее случился выкидыш.)
Я помню, где находился, когда узнал о покушении на президента Рейгана. Помню взрыв «Челленджера». Помню 11 сентября 2001 года. Помню рождение моих сыновей Кэйлана и Коди, их первые шаги, помню торты на их дни рождения.
Надеюсь, что вы меня понимаете. Я молюсь о том, чтобы вы сумели извлечь из своей памяти воспоминания, и хорошие и плохие, и задать себе тот же вопрос, что был у меня перед прочтением этой книги. Почему определенные события становятся нами? Становятся очень личной частью того, чем мы являемся? Почему именно эти воспоминания? Что заставляет их застрять в нашей памяти?
У вас в руках инструкция о том, как работает ваш мозг. Пользуйтесь ею постоянно. Первое появление Кэролайн на нашей с Лаури телевизионной программе «Славьте Господа» тоже застряло в моей памяти. Об авторе
