Educational Background of Orchestra Members

One of Ricciotti’s most important goals is to offer its members the opportunity to broaden their musical knowledge and skills, and to gain experience with different types of audiences. In the last few years, both audiences and the ensemble have enthusiastically embraced the principle of working with themes in music. The intense focus on one theme leads to a considerable quality improvement in a certain genre.

The tours always begin with an intensive rehearsal period in the Netherlands. In preparation for this year’s tour, and in order to ensure that members of the orchestra do indeed learn a great deal about Russian folk music, several workshops will take place during this period. The workshops will concentrate on various characteristic elements of this genre, such as the unwavering melodies, the tone-colour, the intensive rhythm and quick tempos.

Both in the Netherlands and in Russia, Ricciotti members will play with other ensembles. The representation of the orchestra is of great importance to Ricciotti. Therefore, a workshop on stage presence will be offered in addition to the music workshops. This will enable the orchestra to further increase the interactivity of the performances.

To attract new audiences, members of the orchestra need to pull out all the stops for each performance. Every single member of Ricciotti is expected to display a flexible attitude and a willingness to put in all of the necessary effort.
