MY SPECIALITY

I study at Saint Petersburg University of State Fire Service of Emercom /MChS/ of Russia. Our University is the oldest fire higher educational establishment in the country. I am an extramural students /cadet/. I study at the Faculty of Psychology. It trains specialists in the field of fire protection and rescue service. My specialty is psychology. I have chosen this profession, as I want to help people. I want to understand people better and of course. It will help me to understand myself better too. My goal in life is to become a qualified psychologist.

My future profession is to not easy but interesting. It is difficult to imagine how much a psychologist must know in modern condition. It demands patience, resistance and methodism.

The work of firefighters and resouers is hard and dangerous. They are subjected to stress loads every day. So, the task of a psychologist is to help them to manage their stresses, to influence and control dangerous situations. He must be able to train firefighters and rescuers to effectively cope with difficult situations and also to help people to overcome an emergency and a stressful situation.

I think that psychology is a rapidly developing science and I’ll always have an interesting lob. This profession is much wanted in our country. After graduation from the University I’ll become a psychologist in the field of fire protection and I’ll do my best to be a good professional.
