Seven unique high-rises were built in Moscow in the mid 50s. They were equipped with the latest conveniences and boasted on original architecture. The Ukraina Hotel complex is made up of the Ukraina Hotel, the Kievskaya Hotel and the Dnieper restaurant. The high level of service was achieved by training nearly all members of the staff at best professional schools in the west at the Bavarian School of Hotel Business and the specialized Department of New York University.
The task of any person on the staff of a hotel is to see to the guests’ comfort. The Ukraina Hotel has rooms of four categories: single rooms, double rooms, two and three room apartments and luxury suites for the most demanding. The luxury suite occupies about 100 square meters. It is furnished in a beautiful Italian décor, has two bathrooms, telephones and a television with satellite reception. A business center where one can get qualified translations, have a photocopy made and use telex and fax communication devices, is at the disposal of the guests. The hotel conference hall is good for holding lectures, seminars or presentations.
The thirty floors of the hotel can be reached by six high-speed elevators. There are cozy cafes, bars and restaurants which offer cuisine for any or even the most sophisticated taste.
Incidentally, the Ukraina staff are dressed in uniforms that were designed by one of the best known Russian couturiers – Valentin Yudashkin.
As you walk up the stairs from the lobby, you cannot fair to see a grand piano. If you find yourself here in the evening, you will hear a wonderful concert of the music of Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Prokofiev, Rahmaninov and other composers.
The hotel facilities provide not only for good rest but also for health care. There is a sauna and solarium in the basement and you can get necessary medical help here, too. There is a hair salon, as well as a manicure parlor where your hands will be treated in accordance with a unique know-how that is not yet practiced anywhere else in Moscow.
