Специально подчеркнем, что (в отличие от русского) в английском письме номер дома в адресе ставится перед названием улицы, а название города — после названия улицы. Между номером дома и названием улицы запятая не ставится.

Структура делового письма в англоязычных странах несколько отличается от структуры частных писем, но это отличие незначительно. В деловом письме имеются все те же части (элементы), что и в неофициальном письме. Кроме того, в нем могут быть и некоторые, свойственные только деловому письму, элементы. В наиболее полном виде структура письма на английском языке может быть представлена следующим образом:

3. Адрес получателя (Inside adress).

4. Обращение (Salutation).

5. Указание на содержание письма (Subject line).

6. Основной текст письма (Body of the letter).

7. Заключительная формула вежливости (Complimentary close).

8. Подпись отправителя (Signature).

9. Инициалы автора письма и исполнителя (Identifying initials)

10. Указание на приложения, вложения (Если Вы прилагаете к письму какие-либо материалы: прайсы, реклама - для бумаги или файлы - для интернета, стоит об этом написать в самом низу письма) (Enclosures).

11. Постскриптум, т.е. приписка к оконченному письму (Postscript).

12. Уведомление о наличии (Notation of copies sent).
