SANITARY-AND-HYGIENIC REGIMEN IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ANESTHESIOLOGY AND IC
Guiding documents on the maintenance of sanitary-and-hygienic regimen are the order No. 720 "On improvement of medical aid for patients with purulent surgical diseases and intensification of measures on the intrahospital infection control", the order No.408 "On measures intended to decrease a sickness rate for virus hepatitis, as well as sanitary rules and standards" dated from 01.01.1991.
1. A 2-line system should be observed in the operating room:
a) sterile — for surgeons;
b) clean — for anesthesiologists.
2. Before starting the work a personnel must take a hygienic shower with changing their clothes, daily changing gowns, slippers, masks. In the operating room all clothes intended for a change must be sterile. A tank or a bucket with a cover should be for used surgical overboots.
For the personnel not working in the IC department — no entrance.
Prior to admitting the patient to the IC ward a bed and night table must be treated with disinfectant solution, the bed is changed with bed-clothes that passed sterilization chamber treatment.
In the department a cleaning up of rooms and spaces is carried out with disinfectants no less than 2 times a day.
In order to prepare the dirty laundry, it is necessary to have an overalls (gown, triangular kerchiefs, gloves, masks).
Disinfection of rooms, beds, night tables, as well as a sterilization chamber treament of mattrasses are made after a discharge or death of patients.
The walls in the narcotization rooms, treatment rooms, enema rooms, resuscitation hall and rooms for storing the dirty laundry must be faced with glazed tiles, and the floors are to be antistatic.
The air, supplied to the IC wards, should pass through bacterial filters with availability of local suction device or suction cabinets.
Air conditioning is stipulated in the IC wards, operating rooms and narcotization rooms.
Wardrobes for clothes of 100% payroll should be in the cloakroom.
For a quartz lamp treatment of IC wards, operating room, resuscitation hall, quartz is used taking into account 1 W per 1 cub.m.
A minor repair is carried out once a year. For the period of repair any functioning of rooms and spaces must be discontinued. After repair an acceptance certificate is drawn up with the participation of sanitary epidemiologic station (after inoculations) for a permission to admit patients to the IC department.
