Causes: vagotonia, in sportsmen, young men, in peptic ulcer, juandice, high ICP, arterial hypertension, myocarditis, myocardial infarction.

Medicamentous therapy is indicated in acute myocardial infarction, in cases when heart rate is less than 50 per min., and in the heart rate of 50-60 if there are disorders of hemodynamics.

— Sinus arrhythmia (Fig. 31 c) — it is a periodic acceleration and slowing down of cardiac rhythm as a result of improper generation of impulses in sinoatrial node. The length of R-R intervals changes (in the norm they must differ from one another by 5-10%). It requires no treatment.
