Title: Basics of Genetics populyatsioinoy
2. Aims: To generate in students the knowledge of genetic processes in groups of organisms (populations), the mechanisms of formation of the genetic structure of populations, factors contributing to its change and the formation of the genetic load of populations.
3. Learning objectives: - To reveal the role of mutation, migration, genetic drift and natural selection in shaping the dynamics and genetic structure of populations, - To review and understand the types and results of natural selection in populations. - To reveal the role and importance of the fitness of genotypes in natural selection in populations. - To reveal the role and importance of natural selection in shaping the genetic load of populations. - Is formed, the students’ knowledge about the role and importance of genetic load in populations of practical public health.
4. Methods of study: - A combined method of teaching (interview, modeling, the decision of situational problems): - A seminar-debate on "Features of demographic and genetic parameters of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (in separate groups) *
5. Key questions the theme: 5.1. The elementary evolutionary processes. Occurring in the populations and characteristics of their action in human populations: - Migration - Mutation - Genetic drift - Natural selection 5.2. Genetic load of populations, the concept, the medical value.
